2. Apologies. Jacqui Shannon, Selim, Crissima Pearce.
3. Note that the originally scheduled Extraordinary Meeting was adjourned by the Chair, as the turn-out of members did not meet the quorum. The meeting will be reconvened on 15th October 2006. It was decided to change the meeting to a Management Meeting in order to discuss up-coming tasks & events.
4. Update from Treasurer:
• Von has officially resigned as treasurer for the LBMA, however, will continue to liaise with the Inland Revenue and local Accountancy project on behalf of the LBMA until further notice.
• The two sets of accounts from respectively 2003-2005 and 2005-2006 are currently residing with the Local Accountancy Project. We are expecting a list of questions with regards to the accounts during the upcoming week, which will have to be answered before they will sign off the paperwork
• The deadline for submission to the Inland Revenue is in October. Von to liaise further

5. Discussion of membership: It is agreed that it would be worth putting together a proposal to the independent bike shops that have so far supported the LBMA suggesting a 10% discount to LBMA members when a membership card is produced. At present, some couriers may get a discount in certain shops but it is not a persistent policy. Furthermore, it would be something, which the LBMA can do for its members. The preliminary list of shops to be approached is as follows: Brixton Cycles, Mosquito, Condor, Two Wheels Good, London Fields Cycles & Velorution. (Therese to put together initial draft letter. Jon to forward logo and letterhead paper).

6. Discussion of upcoming events:

10/9 –Messenger Appreciation Day, 10am – 2pm. Ross suggests serving coffee and bagels along with Dr. Bike at the Island on High Holborn (opposite Endell Street). 4 people needed (Therese & Ross volunteer).

• Ross: to approached Brixton for donation of coffee & inner tubes
• Jon to put together flier
• Therese to look into borrowing cargo bike, source thermos
• NOTE! Other volunteers needed! Please get in touch if you think you can lend a hand.

Catford Hill Climb: 22nd October, Yorks Hill near Sevenoaks 11am. This is the oldest hill climb in the world –started 1886 by Catford. The hill climb is an intense and outing for spectators. Therese to get info up on site for people interesting in taking part or come along as spectators.

7. LBMA calendars: The sale of the calendars was a huge success in 2005, which brought in a substantial amount of money for the BMEF. We still receive emails through the LBMA site asking for the calendar! It is agreed to see if we can follow up last year’s success: Jon to liaise with Pink Nick & Simone with regards to calendar for 2007.
